Nesidioblastosis and other Neonatal Hypoglycaemias Recurrent functional hyperinsulinism (nesidioblastosis) must be distinguished from other types of neonatal hypoglycaemia (Fig. 20.19), many of which are epiphenomena of little clinical importance but which may, nevertheless, require temporary hyperglycaemic therapy.
